Each machine cost as little as $100
Your donation to ICCA-IRM enables six months of training in sewing and tailoring for about 8 to 12 ladies. At the end of the training the graduates will be given a sewing machine to start their own business, become self-supporting to supply funds for their family. 1 out of 4 women suffer from domestic violence, and 1 out of 5 will be raped at least once in their lifetime – if know become outcasts.
Widows are often abandoned by their extended family and left with no means to provide for their children. ICCA-IRM empowers these women with a needed vocation to generate their own income, to provide for their children and live apart from abusive family members. Their children will also be more likely to attend school and make a future for themselves.
Rural village Sewing Schools Support goes directly to this work in Southern India with zero administration fees.
